Edo Govt Arrests Bishop Over Alleged Sexual Abuse of Two Sisters

The Edo State Government has confirmed the arrest of the founder of Rollo Life of Christ Brethren Ministry, Bishop Gideon Osazee, over alleged sexual abuse involving two biological sisters who are minors.

The victims are reportedly aged 13 and 17. Authorities further disclosed that four other young females have also come forward with similar allegations against the cleric.

Osazee was arrested by officials of the Edo State Government after days of surveillance aimed at ensuring his apprehension.

Speaking on the matter, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Eugene Abdullah, revealed that additional children connected to the church had reported incidents of sexual harassment allegedly linked to the suspect.

Also commenting, Faith Edebor of the Vivian Sexual Assault Referral Centre said preliminary investigations had corroborated key parts of the victims’ testimonies.

However, Bishop Osazee has denied the allegations. He claimed he had no sexual involvement with minors, stating that any relationship he had was consensual and involved only the older of the two sisters.

Authorities say investigations are ongoing as more statements and evidence are being gathered in connection with the allegations.
