The 79-year-old construction magnate defeated challenger Enrique Riquelme, securing 65 percent of the votes cast. According to the club's electoral commission, Pérez received 21,741 votes, while Riquelme garnered 11,814 votes, representing 35 percent of the total ballots.
Speaking after the results were announced at a hotel near the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Pérez described the outcome as one of the most significant electoral victories in the club's history.
"We've obtained the second-best result in the history of Real Madrid elections. It's an extraordinary result. Today, Real Madrid won. We've shown an example of democracy to the world," Pérez said.
The election followed a two-week campaign triggered by Pérez's surprise decision to seek a renewed mandate after the club endured two consecutive seasons without winning a major trophy.
Pérez, who first became Real Madrid president in 2000 before resigning in 2006, returned to office in 2009 and has since overseen one of the most successful periods in the club's history. Under his leadership, Real Madrid have won seven UEFA Champions League titles and seven La Liga championships.
The victory marks another milestone in Pérez's long association with the Spanish giants, having previously been elected unopposed in 2009, 2013, 2017, 2021 and 2025. Sunday's vote was the club's first contested presidential election since 2006.
During his campaign, Pérez unveiled an ambitious sporting project, including the proposed return of José Mourinho as head coach, the planned signings of defenders Ibrahima Konaté and Denzel Dumfries, and a promise to pursue a high-profile attacking signing reportedly valued at more than €150 million.
His opponent, businessman Enrique Riquelme, had campaigned on a platform that included attempts to appoint Jurgen Klopp as coach and pursue marquee signings such as Erling Haaland and Rodri.
Pérez first rose to prominence in Real Madrid politics in 2000 when he defeated then-president Lorenzo Sanz, aided by a campaign promise to sign Barcelona star Luis Figo. He subsequently ushered in the famous "Galácticos" era, bringing global stars including Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo Nazário and David Beckham to the club.
Following his return in 2009 after Ramón Calderón's resignation, Pérez guided Real Madrid into another golden era, highlighted by Champions League triumphs in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Looking ahead, Pérez has indicated plans to propose changes to the club's ownership structure, including the potential sale of a five percent stake to an external investor. Any such move would require approval through a vote of the club's members.
Meanwhile, Riquelme conceded defeat and congratulated Pérez on his victory while reaffirming his opposition to any sale of club ownership.
"I want to congratulate Florentino Pérez's candidacy for the victory," Riquelme said. "We know that Real Madrid isn't for sale."
With a fresh mandate secured, Pérez now begins another four-year term at the helm of one of world football's most successful and influential clubs.
