Four Nigerian music superstars Davido, Burna Boy, Rema and Ayra Starr have been selected for the official soundtrack album of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, further cementing Nigeria's growing influence on the global music scene.
The quartet was named among a diverse lineup of international artistes featured on the tournament's official album, which was unveiled by FIFA ahead of the competition scheduled to be hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Announcing the project on its official X account, FIFA World Cup revealed that the album will be released on June 5 through FIFA Sound in partnership with Universal Music Group.
“The squad for the Official #FIFAWorldCup 2026™ Album is here! Pre-save for the album release on June 5. Stay tuned for more to come,” the organisation stated.
According to the official tracklist, Rema joins Brazilian superstar Anitta and Thai rapper Lisa on "Goals," while Davido collaborates with Major Lazer and Nelly Furtado on "No Place Like Home."
Ayra Starr features alongside American rapper Latto on "Show Me," while Burna Boy teams up with Colombian music icon Shakira on "Dai Dai."
The album also brings together an impressive collection of global stars, including Future, Tyla, Stormzy, Daddy Yankee, IShowSpeed and Shaggy, among others.
The soundtrack will be available on major streaming platforms and in physical formats worldwide.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup, the first edition to feature an expanded 48-team format, will run from June 11 to July 19. A total of 104 matches will be played across host cities in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The tournament will kick off at Estadio Azteca, with Mexico facing South Africa in the opening match. The final is scheduled to take place at MetLife Stadium on July 19.
The inclusion of four Nigerian artistes on the official album highlights the continued rise of Afrobeats on the world stage and its growing role in major international events.
