Phyna Seeks Reconciliation With Davido, Offers Public Apology Two Years After Online Clash

Former Big Brother Naija winner, Phyna, has expressed her willingness to reconcile with Nigerian music superstar Davido, nearly two years after their highly publicised online disagreement.

The rift between the reality TV star and the award-winning singer began in October 2023 when Davido liked a post on X (formerly Twitter) that described Phyna’s fans as “useless.” The action sparked outrage among her supporters and quickly escalated into a heated exchange between both parties.

At the time, Phyna reacted by questioning whether she had personally offended the singer to deserve such treatment. She made the comment while congratulating Davido and his wife, Chioma, following the birth of their twins, expressing confusion over what she perceived as hostility from the singer.

Responding to the backlash, Davido stated that he did not know who Phyna was, a comment that further fueled the controversy. Phyna, in turn, replied with the now-viral phrase, “God knows me,” and subsequently unfollowed the singer on Instagram.

However, during a recent livestream, Phyna revealed that she is now open to burying the hatchet and restoring peace between them. The reality star disclosed that she would welcome the opportunity to have a live streaming session with Davido and is prepared to apologise publicly if given the chance.

“I would like to stream with Davido,” she said. “If I have the opportunity to stream with him, I will take it. Yes, he is senior to me, he is way bigger than me, and I acknowledge that.”

Phyna added that while she is ready to tender an apology, she would also like clarity on what truly caused the misunderstanding between them.

“I’m going to tender an apology to him, but before rendering the apology, we need to understand where that quarrel really came from,” she explained. “Baba Ibeji needs to tell me if it was a mistake that he liked that comment that caused the problem. Then he should explain his own side of the issue.”

She further suggested that Davido’s comment about not knowing her might have been misinterpreted, noting that it could have been taken out of context.

“Because that ‘I don’t know you’ wey baba Ibeji talk, e fit be like say we take am the wrong way,” she said.

Phyna’s comments have since sparked conversations online, with fans reacting to her call for peace and maturity, while others await Davido’s response to her reconciliation move.
