Renowned gospel singer and worship leader, Dr. Ron Kenoly, has passed away at the age of 81.
News of his death was confirmed by several gospel artistes and Christian leaders who took to their social media platforms to pay tribute to the music icon and celebrate his lasting impact on global worship music.
Among those who honoured him was top Nigerian gospel minister, Nathaniel Bassey, who shared an emotional message on Instagram.
“Dr Ron Kenoly crosses to yonder side. Thank you for inspiring generations of psalmists like me. I grew up on these songs. And today, others are growing up on ours. Thank you sir,” Bassey wrote.
Kenoly was widely respected for his energetic style of praise and worship, as well as his ability to lead large congregations in powerful musical expressions of faith. Over the decades, his songs became staples in churches around the world and influenced countless gospel musicians.
He was best known for timeless worship classics such as Majesty, Righteousness, Peace & Joy, Anointing, All Honour, and Sing Out, among others. His music transcended borders, languages, and denominations, helping to shape modern gospel worship.
