President Bola Tinubu has arrived in the United Arab Emirates ahead of the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week summit.
The President landed at about 11:00 p.m. local time and was received by the UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said Tinubu is attending the summit at the invitation of the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
According to Onanuga, the annual global forum brings together leaders from government and the private sector to deliberate on issues bordering on sustainable development.
The theme of this year’s summit is “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go.”
President Tinubu had departed Nigeria on December 28 from Lagos, embarking on what the Presidency described as an end-of-year break in Europe. During the trip, he was last week seen in France, where he held a meeting with Rwanda’s President.
The President is expected to return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the week-long summit.
