Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been arrested by the police following a dispute with his baby mama, actress Ashabi Simple.
The arrest took place on Saturday, about one week after the singer reportedly evaded an earlier attempt to apprehend him.
Portable had allegedly gone into hiding after Ashabi Simple and her siblings petitioned the police, accusing him of assault during a disagreement.
However, a video that surfaced on social media on Sunday evening showed the musician in handcuffs, visibly distressed and crying, while alleging that he was tortured in police custody.
The footage has since gone viral, triggering widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians condemning the police and calling for an investigation into the alleged assault.
