Popular media personality and content creator Kolu has publicly appealed to fellow entertainer Carter Efe to lend him ₦7 million to help secure the release of controversial singer Portable from prison.
Kolu made the emotional appeal on Thursday during a live session with Carter Efe on Twitch, drawing widespread reactions from viewers online.
During the livestream, Carter Efe questioned Kolu’s deep concern for the singer’s situation. In response, Kolu revealed that Portable played a significant role in his rise to fame, describing the singer as the person who brought him to Lagos and helped change his life.
Speaking in Pidgin English, Kolu said, “Portable brought me to Lagos, I come blow. Na him help my life,” emphasising his loyalty and gratitude to the singer.
According to reports, Portable was remanded in prison on Tuesday by the Federal High Court sitting in Ota, Ogun State, following allegations of car theft and assault levelled against him by his baby mama, Ashabi Simple.
The singer was also reportedly handcuffed and beaten while in police custody, further fuelling public debate and concern surrounding his arrest and detention.
The appeal by Kolu has since sparked mixed reactions on social media, with many Nigerians weighing in on issues of loyalty, accountability, and the recurring legal troubles surrounding the controversial artist.
